This policy explains how Blind Pear ("Blind Pear," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and retains information when you use the Blind Pear mobile app and website.

Information We Collect

Depending on how you use Blind Pear, we collect:

Account and profile information: your name, email address, date of birth and age, gender, occupation, city or location, dating preferences, interests, profile answers, and relationship, lifestyle, faith, or other sensitive preferences you choose to provide.
Photos, audio, and other content: profile photos, an optional voice introduction, prompts, bios, messages with matches, and information included in reports or support requests.
Location: precise location when you grant location permission, or an entered city and approximate coordinates when you choose a city manually.
Activity and matching information: app opens, likes, passes, matches, conversations, blocks, reports, feature interactions, and information used to create and improve personalized recommendations.
Device and notification information: an app installation identifier, platform information, and a push notification token when notifications are enabled.
Subscription information: subscription status, entitlement, expiration, and purchase history. Apple or Google processes your payment details; Blind Pear does not receive your full payment-card information.

Blind Pear does not access your phone's address book.

How We Use Information

We use information to:

create and secure accounts;
provide profiles, discovery, matching, messaging, notifications, and account controls;
personalize recommendations and improve matching;
process subscription access and restore purchases;
operate safety features, investigate reports, prevent abuse, and enforce our terms;
understand product usage, maintain the service, and improve features; and
comply with law and protect users, Blind Pear, and others.

Automated Profile Analysis

To provide personalized matching, selected profile text and up to four profile photos may be processed by Google Gemini to create numerical representations used by our recommendation system. Audio introductions are not included in this analysis, and neither are your direct messages. Blind Pear does not use this process to make decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects.

We share information only as needed to operate the service:

Other Blind Pear users can see profile content you publish, including photos, prompts, interests, general location, and voice introductions. Messages are shared with their intended recipients.
Supabase provides authentication, database, storage, and server infrastructure.
Google Gemini processes selected profile text and photos for matching analysis.
RevenueCat, Apple, and Google Play process subscriptions, entitlements, and purchase status.
Expo and platform notification services, including Apple Push Notification service and Firebase Cloud Messaging, deliver notifications.
Open-Meteo and platform location services process city searches or coordinates to return place information.
We may disclose information when required by law, to protect safety or rights, or in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of assets.

These providers process information under their own terms and privacy obligations. We do not sell personal information, use it for advertising, or track you across third-party apps or websites for advertising purposes.

Retention and Account Deletion

We retain information while your account is active and as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and protect safety and security.

You can delete your account in the app under Settings > Delete account. You can also request deletion by following our account-deletion instructions. Account deletion removes your account, profile, photos, preferences, matches, and associated identifiers. Messages you sent may remain in the other participant's chat history, detached from your account and shown as sent by "Deleted user." We may retain limited records when required for legal, fraud-prevention, safety, or security reasons, and service providers may retain backups for a limited period.

Deleting your Blind Pear account does not cancel an Apple App Store or Google Play subscription. You must manage or cancel the subscription through your store account.

Your Choices and Rights

You can edit profile information and matching preferences in the app. You can control precise location and notification permissions in your device settings, and manage or cancel a subscription through your Apple or Google account.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain uses of your personal information, or to object or complain to a privacy regulator. Contact us to exercise a right. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Age Requirement

Blind Pear is for adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Contact us if you believe a minor has provided information to Blind Pear.

International Processing

Our service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the service changes. We will post the revised policy here, update the date above, and provide any additional notice required by law.
